The second short film by filmmaker Lee Bishop, 'Light' is an art piece that is open to deeper interpretation. It is shot from the point of view of someone drawn to the window to see the rising sun, which drowns out all other sounds and experiences. But the real world intrudes, bringing down a black curtain. Once again the participant tries to return to the light, and when the darkness returns, a whispering voice implies this could be nothing but a dream. But on what level of consciousness?

Lee Bishop - USA
Lee Bishop is a woman making experimental short films with her company Heaven and Hell Productions. Educated in music and fine arts and always a film and movie lover, she spent her childhood and teens as a visual artist, writer, and singer. But then she chose to leave art for many years and explore life and various unfulfilling careers. After six years living in Arizona and rediscovering photography and the desire to create, she returned to her home state of North Carolina and came to the understanding that making her dreams into short films was the purpose she had been looking for. In 2008, her first year of filmmaking, she completed seven microcinema pieces and had four screenings at film festivals in Wilmington and LA, and was awarded the Purple Heart Award by the Zero Film Festival. She started out putting together stills with music and sounds effects, and moved onto digital video at the no budget level of film production, that trend continues. Mostly non-narrative experimental films, but branching out into narrative, with one narrative film completed in October of 2008, 'Scenes of Horror 3: The Creek'. As of this writing Bishop has self-financed all her projects, totaling under $1000. Her focus for 2009 is 'Working Title', her first traditional length narrative short film. She also has more microcinema experimental films on the back burner.
