 Artist BIO
Molly Magdalain stands out as a true artist who is on the road to her personal freedom. Her strong and expressive voice is the highlight of her work but this is closely followed by her songwriting talent and overall ability to make a unique statement. The title track of her debut album, The Open Road, has already won many awards and garnered fans from all over the world.
Originally from Kansas City, she lived in Nashville for several years before moving to New York City in 2004. She plays many different musical instruments including the piano and guitar and has been writing songs since a young age. Now a prolific songwriter, Molly is also involved in many other forms of art including designer jewelry - painting - and screen-writing . . . when asked why she is so driven to create, Magdalain answers . . .
"I don't do art because I think it's good . . .I do it because I need to. I think one of the biggest reasons I've been so successful is that I've never really cared that much what other people think. I'm an inventor - I like to make my own path. Sometimes I find that the things I create are 'ahead of their time' . . . I like to create new trends with whatever I do. Ultimately, I believe that your life is the greatest art form."
She designs jewelry for her store - StarStrings by Molly Magdalain - a stunning jewelry boutique located in the Soho/Nolita section of New York City. Most of the jewelry is made with recycled elements such as guitar strings and other instrument string and some pieces are made with the strings of well-known celebrities.
She is an activist for the Earth and for global health, in addition to being the highest level reiki master. She currently studies yoga and enjoys researching the healing properties of unusual gemstones. VIDEO SYNOPSYS
In every life there is chaos and simplicity - there is rythmn and there are
changes. Why (what do you think) portrays these angles as they mix together
to make the matter of real life - as it unfolds every day. Filmed on the
streets of New York City, Molly Magdalain is confronted with a never-ending
wave of new faces - challenges and opportunities. Undulating piano riffs
seem to calm one down as they watch a mix of racing cars juxtaposed with the
graceful movement of people in slow motion. Underneath these shiny surfaces
lies the final question which is being asked - What do you think about as
you live your life??? Do you know why??? It's so easy to be distracted and
yet so important to be centered and aware of who you are and what you are
creating with your mind . . . . otherwise, you might just get lost in the
crowd.
